Kwara United threaten Remo Stars' NPFL leadership

Training session of Kwara United

Matchday 4 fixtures will be concluded in three centres - Okigwe, Gombe and Ibadan.

Much of the attention will be on what happens at the Okigwe Township Stadium where Abia Warriors will host Kwara United. The result has the potential of determining the leaders of the league as at Week 4.

A win for the visitors will catapult Kwara United to the top spot in place of waves making Remo Stars.

The Sky Blue Stars have a two-point advantage over Kwara United going into this match.

Abia Warriors are placed 11th with four points from three games.

The corresponding match ended 2-1 in favour of Abia Warriors last season.

In Gombe, the home side chase their first win of the season after two draws and a loss that see them placed second from the base.

A win will lift the Desert Scorpions out of the red zone, while Lobi Stars go for a back-to-back win after beating Shooting Stars 2-1 last Wednesday.

Lobi Stars have five points from three matches.

Shooting Stars, who like Gombe United, returned to the elite division this season.  And like Gombe United, they are yet to win in any match, an unpleasant record both share with Sunshine Stars.

Shooting Stars are also in the danger zone, and only better than Gombe United on goals scored. They have also conceded more than Gombe United, a situation that leaves both teams having a deficit of one goal aggregate.
