Rivers United chase points in Ilorin, as NPFL reaches Week 5

The Kwara Sports Complex in Ilorin, where Niger Tornadoes have made their temporary home, will witness two games this Matchday. While Kwara United will wait till Sunday to host Rangers in a clash of early leaders of the season, Tornadoes will use the ground on Saturday as River United visit.

The visitors are presently second on the log and will usurp Remo Stars' top position if they avoid defeat.

The Pride of Rivers have been impressive on the road with victory over Enyimba in Aba and a forced draw in Makurdi versus Lobi Stars. But they could not break Sunshine Stars in Port Harcourt last Sunday as their first match of the year ended goalless.

Tornadoes have not done too well in their return to the top flight. Just one win (a lone goal against Plateau United) and a draw at home to Abia Warriors is what they have to show so far in four matches.

The Ikon Allah Boys would have been in the relegation zone but for goal difference advantage over Heartland.

Victory will be heartwarming for coach Ahmed Nuhu (Babayo) as his side tried to recover from the 0-4 flogging in the hands of Rangers in Enugu last Sunday.

Nine matches are scheduled for Sunday.

Katsina United v Gombe United, Enyimba v Shooting Stars, Sunshine Stars v Kano Pillars, Lobi Stars v Akwa United, Kwara United v Rangers, MFM v Abia Warriors, Heartland v Wikki Tourist, Remo Stars v Plateau United, Dakkada v Nasarawa United (all 4 pm)
