FAAN Donates Office Equipment to Lagos NIPR

The Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has received a boost for its secretariat uplift strategy with the donation of office equipment by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

Delivering the equipment on Thursday at the Ilupeju office of Lagos NIPR, the retiring General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu believed that the donation would go a long way to enhance the administrative prowess of the chapter. 

Mrs Yakubu, who is bowing out of office on Friday, said that being a member of the Lagos chapter 'has been fantastic and rewarding'. 

Receiving the donation on behalf of the chapter, the Chairman, Mrs Comfort Obot Nwankwo, expressed delight over the kind gesture. 

The Chairman of the foremost NIPR chapter in Nigeria called on other members of the Institute in Lagos to emulate the kind gesture of the members at FAAN. 

'As the Lagos chapter’s secretariat undergoes a major facelift, I want to encourage our members to join us in making this task a reality', she encouraged. 

'We still need the assistance of individuals and corporate organisations. Prospective donors need not give us the money. They may decide to purchase any other office equipment, office furniture that are needed. The list of the items needed are available on request'.

The office equipment donated by FAAN include: AP Sharp 6023NV copier, Lenovo A10 C15 4LiTB all-in-one desktop computer, Bluegate 653 KVA UPS, LaserJet Pro 400 M401a Printer, Canon CanoScan LiDE 300 scanner.

NCDC calls in security agencies to enforce Covid protocol, as Omicron ravages

The  Nigeria Centre for Disease Control  (NCDC) has urged security agencies to collaborate with religious bodies in the enforcement of Covid-19 safety protocols during the festive season. The new concern follows several disturbing factors, particularly the realisation that Nigeria is now the third ranked African country in Omicron infections, after South Africa (1,296 cases) and Botswana (291). NCDC says Nigeria has recorded 45 Omicron cases as of 20th December. On Friday, NCDC announced 1,356 fresh Covid infections which moved the total figure to 234,709. On hundred and ninety-seven Covid patients recovered on Friday to bring Nigeria's total recoveries to 212,237, while two fatalities were reported to take the figure to 2,993.
